The municipal Museum of Fine Arts of Ghent organised a lockdown exercise on July 13 2022, during regular opening hours in the presence of visitors, museum staff, volunteers and the local police. The Blue Shield, represented by Lucas Verhaegen, participated in the exercise as an observer. The procedure was developed on the basis of the following scripts : (1) an external threat by riots or social unrest, (2) an internal threat by (armed) intruders and (3) a shelter-in place because of an external health risk.

Would you like to receive the results or ask questions ? Please contact Wesley De Smet (head of facility management at the museum; Wesley.DeSmet@stad.gent) or Kim Covent (advisor to the local Ghent police; kim.covent@police.belgium.eu).
